Christine K. Vogel
DVM, Practice Owner/Veterinarian
We all have a driving force behind the why, the how and the what we do. Here is my “Why” as practice owner and Veterinarian of Animal Health Care Veterinary Hospital:
I graduated Iowa State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2000 with a dream to extend the time and bond of people and their pets. Now, with over 2 decades of companion animal veterinary experience under my belt, I feel I have a good understanding of myself, my goals, and our profession. My “why” all stem from my experiences from being a:
- Farm girl nursing to health all of the sick critters that came my way
- Veterinary Student
- Associate veterinarian (non-owning entity)
- Traveling Relief veterinarian (contracted employee)
- Working in Large 8+ Veterinarian Practices
- Working in Small 1-2 Veterinarian Practices
- Living/Practicing in rural and urban areas
- Mother/Working Mom
- Practice Owner
During my 20+ years, I have witnessed the joy, beauty, integrity, and advancements in medicine. I have also witnessed unprecedented depression, work-life imbalance, financial hardships, compassion fatigue, suicide, and burn out from this industry. As one practice owner, I cannot control the fate or direction of the veterinary industry, but I can control my little “bubble” of how I practice and those with whom I surround myself. We cannot fix all that is wrong with the world, however, can we make it just a little bit better one vet visit at a time?
Animal Health Care Veterinary Hospital is the culmination of taking all my experiences by always being a work in progress attempting to build a practice where all employees, clients and patients are seen of value and witness our passion for what we do. We will also protect this passion by making my staff feel valued, safe from injury, living wages, and constantly encouraged to succeed. However, the trade is we must also have time for our own family, friends, hobbies, and rest. “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”
Dr. Beth Wohlert is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine who joined the team at Animal Health Care in 2012. She grew up on a small dairy farm in NE Iowa. With her siblings she enjoyed a menagerie of pets both indoor and outdoor. Her best friend growing up was a black Cockapoo named Petey, who enjoyed chasing skunks, along with the baths and attention this behavior gained. This piqued her interest in caring for animals of all sizes. After high school she obtained her Bachelor degree in Biology in 2005 at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. She then pursued her DVM at Iowa State University where she graduated in 2009.
Her favorite part of this job is getting to know the pets, and the clients who have become part of the AHCVH family. She greatly enjoys the energy, humor of the staff, and the commitment to good quality medicine, surgery, and preventative care.
She currently lives in Caledonia, MN where she farms with her husband, Tyler and their soon to be 1 year old son Jonah. She is very excited to get the chance to meet you!
Dr. Sarah Muellner
Dr. Sarah Muellner was born and raised in Rochester. She moved away to River Falls, WI to obtain her undergraduate degree in biology. She then attended Veterinary school at Iowa State and graduated in 2006. After veterinary school, she lived and worked in the Twin Cities area until 2014 when she moved back to Rochester to raise her family. Dr. Muellner’s professional interests include preventative care, senior care, dentistry, and dermatology.
Outside of work, she enjoys family time with her husband, 3 kids, and being active outdoors. Dr. Muellner is excited to be part of the team here at Animal Health Care Veterinary Hospital.

I have always had a passion for animals and have been blessed to make it my career. My husband and I share our home with 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 snakes. Hello, my name is Lexie. I am a certified veterinary technician. I graduated from the RCTC Vet Tech program in 2020. I joined the AHCVH team in October of 2021. I’m from a small town where my family farms hogs, crops, and beef cattle. I have loved animals for my entire life. My husband and I currently live outside of Rochester but plan to get back to the country someday as I have a horse, Beauty, and a miniature pony, Toby Jo. I share my home with two dogs; Colt and Cannon as well as two cats; Moxie amd Dottie. My husband is a saint! We also have a chicken named Shelldon. A few of my favorite things are reading, going for walks, horseback riding, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending time with my family and friends.

Since then, she has moved to Wisconsin, continues to stay home with their three girls, and works on her family dairy farm raising baby calves. She is so excited to be returning to the team in a different position and getting to know everyone all over again.

Bio coming soon
Hello, my name is Amy. I have lived in the Rochester area for the last 12 years. I graduated from RCTC in 2014, with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Life took me on a different path where I worked at a boarding/daycare facility for almost 10 years. I am happy to be back in a Vet Clinic setting. I joined AHCVH in January of 2023 as their Veterinary Assistant.
My fiancé and I live outside of Rochester with our two furbabies Meeka (Morkie) and Myra (Shepherd/Coonhound Mix)
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and friends. During the summer you will find me kayaking, swimming in our pool or at the lake, and tubing down the river. I like to go for walks or hike the trails around Rochester.
I am excited to meet you and your furbabies!
Office Manager and Customer Service Representative
Hi! My name is Holly. I joined the AHCVH family as of 05-2021. I was born in MN, raised in WI, and now have been in Minnesota for multiple years now. I currently live in Stewartville with my husband Kyle, and we share our home with our 2 furbabies. We have a corgi named Bailey and a yellow lab named Blue. They keep us busy! We love doing anything outside rather it’s going on walks, hiking, having a fire, watching dirt track racing in the summer, and hockey in the winter: Go Wild! I am new to the veterinary world, but I have so much love for animals! I have multiple years of customer service experience and am excited to be able to be a part of the family. You will see me at the front desk!
Remote Customer Service Representative
Hello! My name is Dayana and I am the remote CSR that gets to speak with most of you! I grew up in Rochester and graduated from Mayo High school in 2011. I came to the practice in the summer of 2018 and loved being a part of this team. I did end up moving to California in the fall of 2020 and had to say goodbye to AHCVH. A little over a year in January of 2022, I was so happy to return as a remote CSR. I love being able to still get to know all our furry patients and still be able to catch up with our returning clients. My favorite part about working for Animal Health care is being able to be a part of such a great team that works hard to be able to provide the best possible care to all our patients and being able to educate our fur parents on pet care. On my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and taking my daughter to Disneyland. I also have a fur shih-tzu baby, Kiko. I am so happy to be here!
Raised as an Iowa farm boy I learned to be creatively resourceful and have always been a “Do-It-Yourself” kind of person. I also found I was very good with math and science and computers during my elementary & high school years. After high school, I attended Iowa State University in Ames, IA, where I met my wonderful wife, Dr. Christine Vogel. We then moved to Denver in 2000 and I got my feet wet in the telecommunications industry with AT&T Broadband (now part of Comcast). In 2004 our son was born and was quickly followed by our daughter in 2005. In 2006 we decided to pack the family and herd of pets up and move back to the Midwest where we were closer to our families. Continuing my career in telecommunications, I took a position with Charter Communications (now part of Spectrum). In 2008 the opportunity to help my wife get into a private practice of her own became available and we jumped at it. It needed lots of work though. Not a single computer in the place and still had wood paneling on the walls from the ’70s. Lots of sweat and tears have gone into this business since then.
In 2017 I left Spectrum and went back to school and in two very short years, I finished my B.S. in Data Science/Data Management. Now in the years leading up to this point, I had spent a lot of my spare time helping at AHCVH with IT support and it had very much become a family affair with everyone helping in some way. So… what do I decide to do? Why not start my own IT services company (as if we didn’t have enough on our plate already)! And in 2018 I founded Red Stapler Geek Support offering in-home IT support but still very much a part of the AHCVH family.
